New format for 2019 Annual Meeting
As reported in our November 2018 issue of Current Times, the CREC Board made the decision to modify the co-op’s annual meeting format, starting in 2019. This year’s meeting, slated for August 22, will follow that new format.
Here are the key changes:
- Location/time change: The meeting will be held our Lake Saint Louis branch office rather than the Family Arena. It will be held in the afternoon at 4 p.m., prior to the Board’s August 2019 regular meeting.
- No food/entertainment: There will not be a meal served nor will there be any entertainment or giveaways at the meeting.
- Prizes: Free electricity prizes will still be awarded, but winning does not require attendance at the meeting. To be eligible to win, members must vote online or by paper ballot prior to the meeting, or may vote at the meeting if they choose to attend. Winners will be drawn in the week following the annual meeting and contacted at that time.
- Watch the meeting online: Kick off your shoes and get comfortable watching the meeting live online via YouTube. Details on how to access the link will be available on our website, social media channels and the August issue of CREC Connections, our monthly e-newsletter.
“In the past, the only way for members to vote for new Board directors was in person at our annual meeting event,” said General Manager/CEO Doug Tracy. “With online voting or requesting a paper mail-in ballot prior to the annual meeting, we hope that we’ve made it convenient for members to vote and still have an opportunity to win free electricity — without the obligation of attending the meeting in order to do both.”
