For the past 17 years, Brenda Sue Fowler’s love of theater has been shared with area shoppers looking for costumes and vintage fashion. Adult and children’s clothing from eras gone by, in addition to jewelry, purses, shoes, boots and hats are featured at Brenda Sue’s. Items including make-up, wigs, masks, beards and much more are also available.

“For many,” she said, “it’s like a walk down memory lane. They may comment that a relative had this or that piece of clothing.”

Younger people also seem to find the store interesting. “A lot of teens like to dress up in vintage clothes,” Brenda Sue explained, “it’s fun to see them come in and get excited about the items we have.”

College students making the St. Louis to Columbia drive also stop by. Whether you’re planning to be a pioneer from the 1880s, a flapper from the roaring 1920s, or seeking a cool 1950s look with a leather jacket, Brenda Sue’s can help you realize that dream. If you don’t see what you want, just ask, she says.
